The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

In Nursery and reception we follow the '2021 Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.' This is split in to 7 areas.

The 3 prime areas on which we focus are

• Communication and Language
• Physical Development 
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development

The other areas are

• Knowledge and Understanding
• Expressive Arts and Design 
• Mathematics
• Literacy

At the end of the Nursery most children will have made very good progress in their development and they are ready to move in to Reception. 

At the end of the Reception children are assessed against 'Early Learning Goals' in each area. Most children will have gained 'A Good Level of Development' over the year and be 'Year 1 ready' by the end of this year.
