GDPR
General Data Protection Regulations
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is data protection law as set by the EU. It works with the Data Protection Act 1998 and came into force in May 2018. GDPR gives individuals rights about their data:
- Right to be informed
- Right of access
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object
- Rights related to automated decision making, including profiling
Privacy Notices
Privacy Notices are the declarations to pupils/parents/staff about how you, as a school, use the personal data provided about them. Schools are required to send out the Privacy Notice every year.
School Pupils
To be provided for each pupil in school with a Privacy Notice and access to a Data Protection Policy
School Workforce
To be provided for each member of staff, including volunteers/consultants etc, in school a School Workforce Privacy Notice.
