Literacy

In literacy we use different approaches to support the children to become writers. 

We have talk for writing units which enable the children to learn a model text and then through the unit explore how to edit, innovate and invent new texts. We use a genre approach which means we teach how to write in that style and address grammar teaching through the unit. Occasionally we use a novel approach, which means we look at a key text and then do many different styles of writing through this unit. 

All these approaches enable our children to become writers for purpose.
