Thursday 4th June
Today we will be writing the third part of our senses poem and will be thinking about our sense of smell. Look at the things you smelt yesterday and pick your 4 favourite things. Look at my poem below and use your smelling ideas instead of mine. You only need to change the parts that are underlined. Your poem doesn’t have to rhyme, but you could ask your grown up to help you think of two things that sound the same.
I can smell the roast meat,
The fresh bread, the pretty flowers,
I can smell your dirty feet.
I can smell YOU!
Today we would like you to investigate halves. You will need some objects to count e.g. pasta, counters, cars. Pick a number between 1 and 20 and count this amount of objects. Can you share this number into 2 equal piles? If you can share fairly then the number can be halved. If the two piles do not have the same amount in then it can’t be halved.
Make a list of numbers that can be halved and those that can’t.
