Information about school opening on August 25th

Wednesday August 11th 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

We are pleased to say that school will open as normal on Wednesday 25th August and we look forward to welcoming you to in to school. Due to DFE and government guidance the following policies and procedures are still in place in school and must be adhered to;

  • If your child has any of the following symptoms:
  • A high temperature
  • A persistent cough
  • Loss of sense of smell

We recommend that they take a full COVID PCR test and inform the school office of the results. If the test is positive they must isolate for the 10 day period. If the test is negative they will be allowed to return to school.  If you choose for your child not to have a full COVID PCR test then our risk assessment means they cannot return to school for 10 days.

If someone in your household tests positive it is recommended that your child goes for a full COVID PCR to see if they have asymptomatic COVID. If the result is negative they can return to school but MUST NOT be brought to school by the person in the household that has tested positive.

At the beginning of each day we will now be allowing parents/carers on to the school site to drop off and collect children. Parents/carers may now enter school through either the Imperial Avenue or Braunstone Avenue entrances.

We do, however, politely ask that you do not congregate in larger groups in the playground and leave the site as soon as possible after dropping off or collecting your children.

Although mask wearing and social distancing are no longer in place we would ask that you respect the choices of others if they choose to continue to social distance or wear a mask.

No parents will be allowed in to the classrooms when dropping off children. Hopefully you will be invited in to the class regularly throughout the year for stay and play and parent sessions. This will give you an opportunity to see the classroom provision and spend time with your child in school.
