Monday 1st June
In Literacy this week we will be writing our very own poem. Our poem is going to be all about our senses. We learnt about our senses in the Autumn term. Can you remember what your senses are?
Today we would like you to collect words for our poem. Can you think about things you can hear, touch, see, smell and taste? You can do it in your house or garden. You might want to do this whilst on a walk.
For Maths this week we will be adding and subtracting. We have done this lots over the year and have been trying to get better and remembering number facts quickly.
Today we would like you to learn all the number bonds to ten. You could use cut out handprints to help you (See pdf below). If an adult says a number between 0 and 10…how fast can you say the number they need to add to make ten
If your child finds this too easy, challenge them to learn their number bonds to 20.
Try this game https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button choose number bonds – make 10 or make 20 (link below)
This topic can be done throughout the week
We have been very lucky with the weather so far. But... it may change this week. Can you keep a diary of the weather? Think about what symbols you could draw to show each weather.
If it stays sunny all week, could you write a weather forecast? You will need to tell people what the weather is going to be and what they should wear. You might need to mention suncream!
